Rawr - haste & Kitty DPS

I recently started building up my kitty DPS set again and as any Kitty knows, it can be difficult to determine which items are best.  I am attempting to use RAWR to setup my gear to the best it can be.   I followed the Rawr setup guide that was posted by I think Rarebeast.  Thank you btw.  My question is, when I use the "optimize" option, Rawr is suggesting that I put in some haste gems.  I was under the impression that haste was not very useful to a Kitty.  Can someone elaborate a little for me?  Heck, Rawr is valuing Bracers of Swift Death over Toskk's Maximized Wristguards and I can only attribute that to the haste.  Did I perhaps set something up wrong in Rawr?

In addition, I am currently using the Greatness Deck - Agility and the Needle Encrusted Scorpion for my trinkets.  I am soft capped on Armor pen.  Rawr mentions that Herkuml War Token is an upgrade over the Needle Encrusted Scorpion.  Should I make the expediture to get the Token?  I was thinking having the Armor Pen proc (puts me at the hard Armor Pen Cap) would be more valuable that the staic haste and AP proc.  Thoughts or opinions?  I know there are better trinkets but I dont seem to have any luck rolling on trinkets in ICC or TOC25 raids.

There is a problem with the default gemming templates for Rawr.Cat at the moment.   I posted an issue on the Rawr development site a while ago, but it hasn't been fixed yet.

The current gemming templates don't include any Agi/Haste gems so the optimiser won't suggest them at all.   You need to go into the gem comparison pane and manually mark the Agi/Haste gem available.     At average gear levels, haste just beats crit.  As you gear up the margin increases, especially once you start coming up against the crit cap.  As a rule the normal gems you will see will be :-

Meta - Relentless Earthseige Diamond
Red - Agi or ArPen
Yellow - Agi/Haste
Blue - 1 Nightmare Tear (to acivate meta)

Agi/Crit is only slightly below Agi/Haste so it might appear sometimes for Rawr, depending on your particular setup.

Herkuml is ilvl 264, scorpion is ilvl 232.  Even if Arpen is a good stat, Herkuml has a lot more stats on it (but be careful of the uptime, simulations are very optimistic about it, while reality may not be as bright).  When I switched my weapon to ilvl 277 I went way under the arpen cap, but still the stats on the weapon were so much higher that the arpen loss was covered by a large margin by the higher AP, haste, crit....  In short: trust the calculations   (even if I prefer simulationcraft over rawr).
