Hi, everyone!

We seem to be getting a lot of questions concerning possible gear upgrades or suggestions on where to go.  Can we all post them in this thread so that it is all in one spot?

Also, please read through this thread as someone with a similar situation may have already asked the same questions.

Some simple guidelines:

1)  Please give an armory link.  For example, here is mine Wickedclaw on Uldaman.  Please log out in the gear and feral form you want critiqued.

2)  Please give a quick description of your playing style and progression level (Kara, Gruul, SSC, TK, MH, BT) so we can give you suggestions on where to look.  (We can look this up on WoWJutsu, but that takes a lot of "guessing".)

3)  Feel free to provide any other information that you think would be relevant to your situation.

How about any specific notes on what they're trying to accomplish, or what problems they're having.

Armory is still buggy sometimes, so mention if you're looking for dps or tanking advice as a lot of gear can be seen as both.

if you're looking for the quick upgrade, tell us what you have for badges, arena points or honor points?

(also saving this space for wickedclaw to use if need be).

Currently working on S3 PVP Bracers and about to start to get the S3 Breatplate.

Uhm guys? I think you misunderstood Wickedclaw?

If you have questions regarding your equipment and want to talk about THEN you should post your armory link here with appropriate information (current raiding content, goals etc).

This is not a "see this is my equipment, have a nice day" thread Grin

Here's my armory link http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Staghelm&n=Tehdrood

Focussed primarily on bear form.  I've been MT'ing and (OT'ing sometimes) for my very small guild.  We're up to Opera event in kara.  Running lots of heroics as well.  Only pvp'ing for specific gear upgrades.  Right now I don't forsee advancing to 25-man raids soon, given RL issues and the size of my guild.... so just trying to be the best I can given the gear thats attainable.

The following is my current list for upgrades w/ priorities, any comments/questions would be appreciated.

Planned upgrades (slot / item / priority / comments):
Neck - Necklace of the Juggernaut - Very Low - only will get if i need the def at some point
Shoulders - Vengeful Gladiator's Dragonhide Spaulders - Very Low - need season 4, not good enough to get the rating req
Back - Slikk's Cloak of Placation - High
Chest - Vestments of Hibernation - Low
Wrist - Band of the Swift Paw - Low --- Edit: I should probably get Vindicator's dragonhide instead eh?
Hands - Gloves of Dexterous Manipulation - Very High - just need them to drop, all the rogues have em
Hands - Vengeful Gladiator's Dragonhide Gloves - Medium - probably my next arena purchase
Waist - Belt of Natural Power - Very High - order in the mail, just waiting for crafter to get another vortex
Legs - Vengeful Gladiator's Dragonhide Legguards - Low
Feet - Footwraps of Wild Encroachment - Low
Trinket - Moroes' Lucky Pocket Watch - Very High
Idol - Idol of Terror - Very High

Hi there guys...

I'm a pretty casual player, been using the lists and Rawr to kit up - but I think it's time I was thinking in more detail than just how high up the list the kit is - so I'm here for advice! Smiley

Armory link: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Steamwheedle+Cartel&n=Rakanik
(armory showing kitty gear at time of post)

Bear kit:
Emerald Beholder Eye of Stamina
Necklace of the Deep
Shoulderpads of Assassination
Cloak of the Valiant Defender
S3 Chest
Umberhowl's Collar
Verdant Gloves
Veteran's Leather Belt
Heavy Clefthoof Leggings
Heavy Clefthoof Boots
Violet Signet
Wind Trader's Band
FW Insignia rank 6
Dabiri's Enigma
Braxxis' Staff of Slumber
Idol of Terror

Progression:  Currently doing Kara - guild has 2 groups going, up to Shade with main group - I'm in the alt group which is on Maiden, but sometimes get to go with main group.   I usually OT my group, or DPS in the main group (healing where necessary)

I'm currently working on enchants for my bear kit - and getting solid star of Elune into pretty much every slot.  After that I'll pick up kitty enchants and gems.
I'll get the great protector ring soonish, and I'll have enough arena points for another S3 piece in a few weeks.  Not quite there on CE rep yet either ;(   I'm working on Shartuul, but not got the hang of the third demon yet.
Raid Buffed: Almost 16k Health, almost 23k armour, crit immune (421 defence, plus resisilience - I was lazy and just aimed for over 415 defence)

Healing kit:  Errr, haven't got it to hand, but just under +900 heal and about +70 mp5.  Healed for our kara kitted MT in heroic SP no problem.

General thoughts on my bear kit?  What easy to get pieces should be next?
Any thoughts on the kitty kit?  (I tend to stay pretty high in our raid damage meter in kara, despite healing during maiden, tanking some of the nasty trash pulls and other such crazy hybrid dancing)

Things to note: Our realm AH is rubbish (only seen badge on it once, for insane money), and PVP is nightmare slow getting anywhere - especially arena (the only RP realm in a 4 realm BG with 2 PVP servers)

Sorry, for some reason I was under the impression that someone already responded to your post.

You appear to be at the stamina cap for Kara.

You may want to get a [Stylin' Purple Hat] crafted.  Though, you will probably replace it with the T4 helm (or S3) relatively soon.

It sounds like you're working on your arena points for S3 gear which is great.  The chest (which you already have) and head are good for both tanking and dps.  Socketing Agi in them will make them fairly all-purpose.  I'm a big fan of +stamina for tanking-only gear.  Though, socketing agility for dual-purpose gear is perfectly acceptable.  The S2 shoulders are a good upgrade, too.  Get the S3 shoulders if you have the rating, of course.  As far as I know, there are no plans S4.

Unless you go for something like the S3 legs, you will be hard pressed to find something better than the heavy clefthoof leggings.

The S3 PvP gear (bracers, belt, boots) are also good and look to be an improvement over what you have.  The badge boots are pretty good for tanking.  It takes a lot of effort to farm the badges and honor, so plan your upgrades accordingly.

There's no problem with farming Shartuul for the [Badge of Tenacity].  Though, it's been out long enough that you can probably find it on the AH during peak times.  Have your guildies keep a lookout for it.  One might pop up sooner or later.  I'd imagine they're in the 500g range now.

For your other trinket, you can farm for the netherwing revered badge or go for the darkmoon +51 stam one.  You will eventually be taking off gear with lots of stamina (heavy clefthoof set) for gear with a mix of armor, agility and strength (T4 / PvP gear).  The trinket slot is a good spot to recover some of that stamina.  [Moroes' Lucky Pocket Watch] is a good trinket, but I only have that in my "dodge" tanking set.  I'd prefer more stamina in that slot, but maybe that's just me.  I would consider it an upgrade over what you have, however.

Earthwarden is a good upgrade over Braxxis.  You can probably farm CE heroics for the badges and rep, so it's a double win there.  The [Barkchip Boots] might be better tanking boots than the [Heavy Clefthoof Boots] considering that you're already over the crit-immune cap.

The [Thoriumweave Cloak] is a good upgrade over what you have.  It drops in Mechanar.  Run it in heroic for more badges.  Of course, the badge cloak is the best in game so far, but it's expensive.

Thanks,  Thoriumweave dropped for me the other night (woo!).

Only seen the Badge on AH once, at 2k gold. Sad   But I'm set for a few goes at Shartuul soon, fingers crossed.

(New to the board -- hello, all! Great stuff here.)

Don't forget that you can also farm CE rep by stealthing to the slaves in SV (just out of the water and before Mekgineer Steamrigger), and taking them out one by one (careful of the Slavemasters!). They give 12 rep each, and there are about 15 of them you can do before resetting the instance. Slow going, but it's something you can do solo (and it's free, unlike Coilfang Armaments on the AH!).

Hi,
I'm a fairly casual player, but I'd like to improve my stuff/template, to better help my mates during the guild raids.
The guild has cleaned Kara, even though the harder bosses were not confirmed and we can't claim we're farming the instance.
I've never killed the prince - but some in the guild have, so it really is a matter of time I suspect...
We're also stuck in Gruul after the first boss (the king).
Some in the guild also started ZA, but I've been there once only, well... I can't spend as much time in this game as I'd wish...
My equipment/template (bear form) are there:
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Elune&n=Imanu

I'm not 100% confident in my template, and would be pleased to get advices.
Also I know some of my stuff should be changed: shoulders to  start with, and I'm looking for Terestian since he's got my Gilded Thorium Cloak  Wink
I also need to add gems/enchants on some of the items, and I'm very bad at that - again, any advice is welcome Smiley

Thank you

OR you could just farm some gold in that time and spend the money on Coilfang Armaments Grin

Your gear isn't terrible, but there is definitely room for improvement.

In general, the Arena gear has some really good tanking stats (stam, high armor, agi).  The season 3 pieces are generally great upgrades.  I see that you're in some arena teams.  That's good.  They're still at 1500 points, so it looks like they're not active.  That's not good.  It only takes 30-45 minutes to get some 5v5 games each week.

Go ahead and socket your helm.  Cheap gems are better than no gems.

You can easily upgrade your shoulders, chest, and belt through PvP/Arena.  The best cape available is through badge turn-ins.  You've got the badge helm, neck, and bracers, so the cape is probably your next big upgrade.  If you have 10 free badges, [Idol of Terror] is pretty good.  Though, it mainly adds avoidance to your tanking outfit which probably isn't as significant as upgrading your cape.

When you get your new cloak, enchant it with +agi.  Enchant your gloves with +15 agi.  The +armor isn't nearly as effective as it does not get multiplied by bear form.

You are currently above the anti-crit cap with defense.  Adding PvP shoulders, a cape, and upgrading your belt will add a lot more anti-crit.  That will allow you to resocket your gear removing any +defense gems you currently have in them.  If your shoulders will also work for your dps outfit, you can enchant it with the attack power enchant.

Personally, I use the S3 chest for both tanking and dps, so I socketed it with some +8 agi gems.  Agility does a great job for both roles.   Enchant your boots with something good.  You won't be changing them any time soon.  Most people like the enchant that includes increased run speed (+9 sta +run or +6 agi +run).

Of course, you can efficiently plan your upgrades by using Rawr so that you get the best bang for the buck.

If you are struggling on High King Maulgar, you can try bringing some extra healers to the encounter.  It is somewhat of an endurance match when you under-gear the encounter.  Your DPS needs to focus-fire down the adds, but there is lots of raid damage being taken.  Extra healers help to keep the dps up through the bursty periods.  If you have 23+ people alive by the time all the adds are down, you are almost guaranteed a win.
