Jewelcrafters also get the 2 bop trinkets that only they can make. I think they are pretty good even without armor, and might be better once armor is not multiplied in a future patch. [Figurine - Monarch Crab][Figurine - Ruby Hare] |

JCers also get the 3xunique multicolored gems which give more stam and make meeting meta gem reqs easy. |

mmm you are right, is really BOE, just you cant put to someone else's leggings... seems to be a bit foolish to me, why you want to put to other's leggings, if you can just give him.... eh |

IF you are looking for a feral tank the best prof set up is LW/JC right now. I am not aware of any changes blizzard is going to make but the two trinkets from the JC combined with the special gems makes JC the top choice for any tanking seeing as you can achieve 296 stam from those alone. (63+62+(41)x3+30+9x2).
For ferals lw is a close second due to the 90 stam to bracers. Some may argue that BS is better because of two sockets however if you use the special jc gems with the 2 sockets that only 82 extra stamina when the wrist is 90. Also if you choose to set up the jc trinks as i mentioned before, you can only put 30 stam gems into those which would be 60 a whole 30 stam less than LW.
For a warrior/paladin it may be better to go JC/BS for gear available or shield spikes but i do not know.

I think you can only use 1 41 stam gem on all of your equipment equipped at one time. I will do some experiments on the PTR when it comes up, but I do believe that is the cap.
Edited - deathkar is correct, you can put three of the 41 stam gems on your equipment. My bad.

I was convinced that the leg armors would be LW-only. Now it seems LW bonuses are only bracers enchants and cheaper leg armor. Havent even seen any BoP crafted LW armor yet. Oh and the leg armors are tradeable, but self use only, because : they require level 80 and thus you can not apply them to you twinks (low level pvp alts). |

incoming changes in 3.0.8
- enchant bracer with 40 stamina, so the difference with the LW armor kit lowering (LW kit is 90 sta)
- "Toughness" (mining) change to 50 stamina from 500HP
- "Master of anatomy" (skinning) change to 32 crit strike rating from 25

Even with the 40 stamina chant to bracers the wrists are still better than the current second place(JC/BS) but by only 2 stamina. But you cant beat the decreased m,ats on leg kits so my statement stand even after the patch that JC/LW is best bear profs for tanking.

when epic gems are available the BS/JC option will surpass the LW/JC(by 10 stam) but we also dont know if blizzard plans to upgrade LW patterns to keep up with the increased value of gems. I would guess yes but you never know with them. Also it is quite possible for an increase to the JC gems as well.

Seeing the only true "tanking" rings we have at the moment have defense on them, you are definitely correct that we can save some points in SotF. I hadn't considered that yet.
Damn, that adds another layer of difficulty in selecting our gear once the new talents go live!
Plz see this as an update to your posting considering its date and the buff, SotF received (in 3.0.8  ) . I can hardly imagine taking only a fraction of 1 point from SotF as it got 2% to any attibute + 22% armor bonus on cloth or leather PER POINT during latest "anti-nerf". :-) Single most overpowered area in talent tree, I think. |
