I've been trying to understand all this numbers.
I mean, I understand them, what I'm trying to do is something which given my stats (or base stats + equip stats) will be able to correctly calculate my combat values. Up to now, I have failed

Someone has the formulae written out which specify how to compute the different values (average damage, dodge %, etc. etc.) starting from the base stats?
I've had a look at Toskks calculator (bear tanking only for now) and while I think I understand most of it (DR on dodge being the part I don't understand), what worries me is that even there, when I type in my stats, the calculated value for dodge% does not match what I see in WoW.
So the questions:
- what to we see in WoW? When it says 35% dodge, it's "you dodge 35% of attacks from a same-level mob" or DR is not yet factored in? Stat values seem to match exactly the current stats (i.e. with all modifiers in place).
- how is damage calculated (mean, variance) from the base stats?
I searched around but for some reason there doesn't seem to be one nice page which explains EVERYTHING, wowwiki has nice stuff on the hit roll tables, this thread has the effect of stats on combat values but no explanation on how to compute them. Also, I don't understand how you can write +x agi = +y dodge when DR is in place.
In short, all help is welcome
